Same Power. More Speed.

You don’t have to guess when it comes to aerodynamics. You can measure it.

At FS Performance, we specialize in outdoor aerodynamic testing under real-world riding conditions. Using data, we compare the impact of position, clothing, and equipment on aerodynamic drag to find solutions that help you ride faster at the same power output.

We are among the few projects in the Czech Republic specializing in outdoor aero testing. Our goal is not just to find the most aerodynamic setup, but also to verify whether you can maintain it effectively while riding.

Less Guesswork. More Data. Every Watt Counts.

Why Outdoor Aero Testing?

There are various software tools available to estimate aerodynamic drag, as well as opportunities to test in a wind tunnel. Outdoor testing, however, offers an important advantage: we can assess aerodynamics directly while riding and simultaneously monitor how your position changes.

Using the Aerosensor Cycling System, we can measure aerodynamic drag expressed as CdA. The Aerobody sensor also tracks the relative position of your head and torso, allowing us to assess how consistently you maintain your chosen aerodynamic position.

Why does this matter?

A position that is aerodynamically efficient for a few seconds may not be the best solution for an entire time trial. If you cannot maintain it consistently, its practical benefit may be limited.

That is why we look beyond simply finding the lowest measured CdA value. We also focus on the repeatability of results, position stability, and whether a particular setup is sustainable and practical for you over longer periods.

Of course, testing conditions matter too. Wind, traffic, and changing weather can affect measurement quality, which is why choosing a suitable course and following a consistent testing protocol are essential.

What can we test?

Aerodynamics depend on the entire rider–bike system. Rather than focusing on a single component, we can systematically compare different elements of your racing setup.

Position and setup

  • Changes to your aerodynamic riding position
  • Upper-body height and stability
  • Your ability to maintain the chosen position while riding
  • Time trial suits
  • Aero base layers
  • Aero socks
  • Shoe covers
  • Aero helmets
  • Selected components and other equipment, depending on testing possibilities

The goal is to determine which changes deliver a real benefit for you. A setup that works for one rider will not necessarily be just as fast for another.

Test equipment available

For selected comparisons, we also have equipment available for you to try during testing.

Time trial suits

  • HUUB
  • Bioracer
  • Kalas

Other equipment

  • Aero base layers
  • Aero helmets, subject to prior arrangement
  • Depending on availability, different combinations of aero socks, shoe covers, and other accessories

We will gradually expand our range of test equipment to include additional brands, products, and components, giving you more options for aerodynamic optimization.

Have your own equipment or a specific product you want to test?

We would be happy to test it with you. Whether it is a suit, helmet, socks, shoe covers, or another component, we can discuss in advance whether and how it can be included in the testing process.

You will need to bring your own bike and any components or equipment you want to test. If you have several options you would like to compare, please contact us beforehand so we can prepare the session as effectively as possible.

How does the testing process work?

01 — Booking

Select your aero testing session and place your order through the FS Performance website.

02 — Planning the session

After you place your order, I will contact you. We will discuss your goals, available equipment, and the specific setups you want to compare. We will then agree on a testing date.

03 — Preparation

Prepare your bike and any components you want to test. We will arrange any loan equipment, including suits, base layers, helmets, and other items, in advance.

04 — Outdoor testing

We will compare individual setups using a structured testing protocol. We will analyze the measured aerodynamic data and, where possible, assess the stability and consistency of your riding position.

05 — Results and analysis

The collected data will help us identify which changes are worthwhile and where investing in new equipment may not be necessary. The aim is to give you concrete information to support your decisions about aerodynamics and equipment.

Who is aero testing for?

For time trialists, triathletes, and road cyclists who want to better understand their aerodynamics and get the most out of their current equipment.

You do not need a professional-level bike or the most expensive components. The purpose of testing is to identify where optimization offers the greatest potential and which investments are actually worthwhile.

First testing sessions from spring 2027

Want to find out how much faster you could go without increasing your power output?

Place your order through our website. I will then contact you so we can arrange a suitable date and tailor the testing session to your goals.
